Daddy Long Legs...
Lately, I have been watching korean dramas and movies. Most of the storyline I came across would be that the heroine/hero would die at the end. It is sometimes frustrating watching these things since I can always relate to those tragic events to my own experience but I still find them worth watching. Why? Because it portrays that love is enduring. It may be lost but could never be forgotten.
Last night, I watched a korean movie titled 'Daddy Long Legs'. One thing that really struck me after watching this movie is that memories of love can be forgotten by the mind but they are always remembered by the heart. The guy had a disease that would slowly make him forget his memories, be paralysed and eventually dies. He loved the girl from afar for 10years, not once professing his love for her. But eventually they did meet and fall in love but the time they'd spent with each was short-lived. It was a bittersweet experience for the girl having loved someone and soon after that person dies. It reminds me of me during those painful times when I lost him almost 4years ago. It seems so long ago that thinking about him now, all I can remember where the happy times we had together. The laughters and the special moments we did and all the things that he did for me. I'm really glad to have met him in my life. He was one of the most important person in my life. What I am now is partly due to his influence...
Ohh and before I forget, today is the White Day here in Japan. It is like the Valentines day only that today is the day for the women. I received some chocolates from my officemates. And this lunch, our managers treated us to lunch. Juliet, Shermin and I had a very big lunch set in one of the restaurants near our office. It was delicious!!! Yummy...Last but not the least, next week we will have a party at the Filipino restaurant with our Japanese colleagues. It would be a welcome and farewell party at the same for Shermin(welcome) and Ivan(resigning)...I'm so excited to eat once more Filipino foods. Yay!!!
Welcome...
It's been a long time since I last posted a blog. So here it is...
Last February 27, Ria and company arrived in Japan. They're the new batches of IT engineers and I'm glad for the company that they bring. So much so that Ria, one of my barkadas in NEC came to work here. It'll be a full of funfilled activities now that she's here. Actually, they had some sort of welcome already. Gelai's bike was stolen. Imagine that! First day and her bike was stolen already. Also,Irvin's bike was stolen last Saturday too!!! We can't really believe that would happen here. I guess I'm lucky that I haven't had the misfortune of having my bike stolen. Otherwise, I have to pay for it and that is not something I want to do.
What else? hmmm , we went to our usual Saturday Japanese class and there are about 15 of us in the classroom. Our japanese teacher was surprised so much so that she was the only available teacher at that time. About 80% of the class comprised of us with Autrialian and Chinese added into it. Walking around Tenjin area in great numbers is a little difficult especially that you have to take note of each other's whereabouts since most of them don't know the area and don't have a cellphone. Though I did find the Shu Uemura store that Georgia is raving about. After being here for 8months, it was Ria who found the store.hehehe...I do agree that it is expensive. Though I haven't yet tried if it is really that good as to what people say...
This coming weekend, we will be going to Momochihama where the Fukuoka Tower is located at. There will be a flea market so we'll check it out and perhaps have our dinner there. I can't wait for it to be a weekend already..Well, that's it for now. I just wrote in this blog whatever comes to my mind...
Pictures later on in my next post... =)
寒いね?!?!?

Time check!!! It's 1:15am(Japan time) and i'm writing this blog before going to sleep. Lately, it's been a lot more colder compared to the days. Winter in fukuoka is almost at its peak and I can't wait for it to be over. That way i'll be able to see the Sakura blossoms. That's one of the highlights of being here in Japan. It was very windy when I went out of the office around 11pm. Brrrr, so cold really though it's a good thing that I had enough winter clothes. But it's still cold. hehehe...
As to other things, work is as usual, busy as always. My leader seems to be in a rush and my mind is jumping about 100km/mins just to finish the workload set aside for me. Well, that's work for me here in Japan. At least my brain won't be rusted, lol... However, I thank the Lord that I did solve the bug that's been bugging me for the entire day. My work is almost done and I'll be able to meet my deadline of today...
The camera that I bought through auctions hasn't arrived. Hopefully by today it'll be here... Ahh, last night, our HR personnel asked me about the housing arrangements with the incoming IT engineers. Of course, Ria came to my mind. Especially that Shermin have no roommate yet so it worked out alright. she'll be sharing it with Ria. Isnt it great that way our apartment is just one block. We can always come over at each other's apartment. Can't wait for Ria to be here. My life in Japan will be a bit less boring than usual, lol...
What else... Hmmm, I guess that's it for now. It'll be another exhausting day today so have to have my beauty sleep now.
Til next time my dear blog.
simple pleasures in life...

It's friday!!! Right now i'm sitting in front of my laptop writing this that first comes into my mind. i'm bored. that's the gist of it. i dont have the patience to watch the movies especially that what i would like to see has no subtitle yet. recently, i'm been following some korean series and it's pretty interesting. first, there's the My Girl. The storyline is about a girl who's good at lying became the cousin of a hotel director. The twists and turns of the series is pretty interesting and it's a comedy at that. A good laugh is what you will find when you watch this series. Then there's the Goong(Palace). It is about the korea's royalties of the present time. More like the royal family life of England, korean style. It is a comedy too and it would certainly grow on you as you watch this movie... Lastly, Rondo. It's a Korean/Japanese combined series. Undercover cop story. Pretty interesting though what i like is the actor who's leading it. He is so cool. And of course, there's Choi Ji Won of Stairway to Heaven...
Hmmm, what else. Today has been a pretty mundane day. Though I did have another workload next week but I'm looking forward to it. At least it wont be boring at the office. I did pay the digital camera that I bought thru the auction. Hopefully, i'll receive it this weekend. I can't wait to use it!!! More pictures later on when I have it with me...
Well, that's all for now. Back to my movie marathon...
Happy weekend!!!
2006 - Happy Year of the Dog...
Fujisaki train station Dec.31,2005

2005 has come and gone...Time flies so fast. It's 2006 already. I've been in Japan for the past 7months and it seems like yesterday. A lot has happened since then and it feels like a dream. I visited my Sakai sensei's hometown in Kouchi prefecture last December. It was an exhausting but worthwhile trip. I've made new friends and even found a Japanese grandpa and grandma. I miss my family maybe that's why eventhough we stayed the entire time at my sensei's home talking about anything and everything but I wasn't bored. There was one time too that we went mountain climbing. That was last January 2006 and it was the most exhausting trip I had. Besides the fact that it was freezing cold in the mountain, but we had to wake up at 330am in the morning to climb the mountain. Had to walk for 5hrs and just see the view at the top for about 10mins...Imagine going thru the pain. I even had a small accident on the way up.hehehe... All in all, it was an eye opener for me. I'm not a good mountain climber.lol...
News? nothing much really except work, see jdrama, kdrama or cdrama on my laptop during weekends. I don't go out much since it's cold outside and all I want is to curl up in my bed and drink hot choco and watch movies...that's life for me here in japan during winter. hehehe... xmas and new year seems like a moment for me compared when I was in the philippines. but that's a blessing in disguise at least I dont miss dearly my family during the xmas season. here's some of the pics taken these past few months. some of them are taken during our xmas party, some at my friends house during new year while some were taken during our outing here in fukuoka city...
パーティーに行きました

here i am again writing to you about what happened last night. our company invited some prospective clients around fukuoka prefecture to hear about hiring Filipino IT engineers. they discussed about the scarcity of experienced IT engineers in the island since most of the IT graduates of Japan will go to Tokyo where the big companies are. though most of the talk are in japanese and some of the words of what they are talking about, i don't understand, still i understood the gist of what they are saying.they need IT engineers to compete globally... =) during the party the five of us Filipino IT engineers will move from one table to another to talk to a client. as for me, i can communicate most of the time but there are times that the words i don't understand so i'll just smile or ask what that mean. hehehe.. it's frustrating not knowing how to express oneself in a different language. hopefully by 6months time i can express my thoughts more freely...at the end of the party, they said it was a success. i'm glad. at least it will be an oppurtunity for other engineers to come to japan and work.
food!!! i was famished. during the party, i just drank some beer and juice and few bites of the menu they offer.i thought that was it since here in japan especially in hotel, there is a time limit and the leftover foods cannot be brought back. too bad... but our president brought us to the restaurant where they offer eat all you can buffet. it was heaven. hehehe... plenty of desserts and main dishes. it was fun. i had a great time talking to my superiors about anything and everthing.i even found out that our japanese teacher, who is also our close friend, will come to fukuoka to visit us next month. i'm so excited to see her again. i can't wait!!! so many happenings next month. a japanese friend of juliet from osaka will be visiting us too. then sensei from philippines. so nice!!! =)
though a lot of japanese always ask us if are we already accustomed to japanese way of life. or how is our life in japan. we always say that yes we are doing fine. it is enjoyable living here. it's the truth. eventhough there are times that i am homesick of my family but just thinking of them makes me more determined to do my best here. i can always talk to them in the phone and inquire how they are doing. just taking one day at a time makes it more bearable. having friends and just having fun makes living here interesting and fun... =)
whatever?!?!?!?!

i feel bored. why? it's because our current project is so frustrating. can you imagine that they just gave a document and said that we have to finish it by the end of next month. it's not even that detailed. so what to do? i don't know. i don't want to do this but i have no choice. wahhhhh!!!! i want to bury my head in the sand and never come out. grrr... bear with me. for this day all i did was study the specifications of 3PCI boards. i understood the functionality behind it but that's about it.how to connect the pieces, it just boggles the mind. i'm so frustrated....
even my weekend was worse. it rained the whole time. i looked forward to it since there is a flea market in hakata bayside. just ruined it all but the brighter side of it was that our apartment was cool. the breeze is cool and we just hang out at home and just watch movies, eat then sleep.too bad weekend was just 2days. =(
what else, this wednesday we will be having a party at our company. they said we have to mingle with the guests which are mostly prospective clients for Filipino IT engineers to work here in Fukuoka. how i wish im really good at speaking japanese just so that my bosses will be impressed with me.i'll just try my best....
well, that's all for now.thanks for listening dear blog... =)
