Nihon ni imasu...

Dear Blog,
Ohayou gozaimasu!
It's been a long time since I last posted a blog. (obviously..hehehe) I'll try to post a new blog at least 3 times a week. Anyway, a lot has happened since the last time I've posted here. Currently, I'm in Japan working as a software engineer. I've been here for almost a month and I'm really enjoying my stay here. Besides the language problem, Japan is a beautiful country. Clean, peaceful and plenty of places to go to. My friend Juliet and I always go out during weekends and usually go to the mall, library or a park whichever takes our fancy. Just last sunday we went to Uminonakamichi and had a great time watching the dolphin show but was exhausted due to our tour of the park. Could you imagine biking the whole place for 1hr 30min at noon time. My skin is even more darker than when I'm in the Philippines. Oh well, I'll get lighter when the cold season comes. =)
Reading the blogs of my friends, Ria and Claire, makes me wish I was in the Philippines. I miss my barkada. Especially Ria and Claire. Maybe it's because I always email them or talk to them most of the time. Claire, my jabbermate during my NEC days.hehehe...While Ria, my email pal whenever I become bored. Too bad I wasn't able to visit them one last time in Manila before I came to Japan. Next year seems lightyears away...
Being in Japan has its drawbacks. First, I don't know how to speak their language. 30% of the time, I don't know what they are talking about. It makes me frustrated at times and eventhough how hard I studied it's always not enough. But as what they always say, take it one day at a time. That's what I'm doing now. I even remembered one instance when Juliet and I went to an Italian restaurant to celebrate her birthday. When the waitress took our order, we just looked at her. hahaha..Her words seems alien to us. And with matching sign language and broken japanese we gave our orders. That's just one, there are plenty of instances when we feel like a clown asking this and that and sometime they don't understand what we are saying.hehehe. Frustrating at best, but sometimes funny....Second, I miss my family and friends. I always call my parents at least 2-3times a week and when I came here, I can only talk to them at least twice a month. Phone card is expensive that's why. =(
Despite all of the things I said, being in Japan to work was one of my dreams. Since I'm here now, next on my list is to go tour around the world. hehehe...It'll take a lot of money and saving on my part but I can do it.
See you next posting.
Cheers!
Maila
